How Will Donations Help Families At Seattle Children's
What We Are Trying To Do
Housing Solutions for Hope strives for community partnership to assist patient's and their families who are in need of housing while at Seattle Children's. We seek to uphold Seattle Children's century long commitment towards philanthropic support and development of sustainable giving.
- Immediate financial gifts will go to support families with short-term lodging needs while the child is in Seattle Children’s care.
- Funding will go to enable long-term inpatients to visit their home for a week-end or holiday.
- Funding will create longer term lodging solutions while under Seattle Children’s care determined by stays from 1 week to 3 months.
- Focus on temporary housing for the family as a stepping stone following patient discharge for 1 to 3 months.
- Create Legacy housing for patient families while in care of Seattle Children’s that enables “whole family healing” funded by major donations, corporate giving and in-kind donations for co-development of new or renovated housing.
Helping Families Be There
What Can HS4H Do To Help
- Assisting a family by paying their rent/mortgage while their child is an inpatient or undergoing outpatient treatments.
- For long-term patients, we can help prepare a clean and safe environment for immunotherapy patients with compromised immune systems to visit their home.
- For families who cannot access Seattle Children's housing or are unable to live onsite, we can create longer-term housing solutions of up to 3 months.
- Creating opportunities for patient families to find a temporary home through strategic partnerships (e.g. Home Builders, Charitable Organizations, Airbnb owners and others)
